The Bristol Youth Choir is made up of a Junior section for children aged from 7 to 11 years, and Senior section for singers aged from 12 to 18 years. They sing a wide range of repertoire from action songs and songs from the shows to classical pieces. They take part in a minimum of 3 concerts per year.
What it costs
Payment is due at the start of every term, payable to Bristol Plays Music. Families who have a child registered for free school meals will not be charged.
Junior Chamber Choir - £38 per double term (3 double terms per year)
Senior Boys Choir - £38 per double term
Senior Chamber Choir - £54 per double term
If you attend two Music Centres run by Bristol Plays Music charged at £52 each you will receive a £20 discount per double term. No other discounts apply.
Parents can use the new online system to enrol singers and make payments.
Juniors: Fridays during term time from 4.30pm to 6.15pm
Senior Boys: Friday during term time from 5.15pm to 7pm
Senior Girls: Fridays during term time from 6pm - 8pm
New members are invited to come and sing through some straightforward pitch tests so David can hear what their singing is like. This is usually arranged on a Friday afternoon at about 4.30pm.
Where we rehearse
Rehearsals take place in the Performing Arts Centre at Cotham School. The entrance is on Cotham Lawn Road. As you face the large building, on the left is a car park with green fencing. Parking is available here. To get to the Performing Arts block walk down through the green gates towards the school with and keep going.
Voice tests for new members are held on Fridays at 4pm for Juniors and Intermediates, and 6pm for Seniors. Please contact David Ogden at email@example.com to book a slot.
